St Ives District Junior Cricket Club, Inc. is one of the largest junior cricket clubs on Sydney's North Shore, with over 450 members, 35 teams and an army of mums and dads helping out behind the scenes. Players are aged 5-17 years old, boys and girls. Teams play on Saturday mornings and afternoons. with Sunday morning competitions for some age groups. The Club is affiliated with the North Shore Junior Cricket Association (NSJCA) and plays competing teams with Mosman, North Sydney, Lane Cove, Roseville, Lindfield and West Pymble. There are girls only and mixed competitions.

The NSJCA operates under the auspices of Cricket NSW, the body with overall responsibility for cricket in NSW. Games are played under the MCC Laws of Cricket, 2000 Edition, as modified by each Association to suit the junior competition (local rules). The local rules relate primarily to batting and bowling limitations or requirements, aimed at ensuring all players have a fair go. The Club’s philosophy mirrors that of the NSJCA, namely to provide a well organised competition that enables as many junior players as possible to enjoy the game of cricket, and for them to get the most out of their participation. Differential skills within the same team should not lessen the enjoyment and sense of achievement of any player, regardless of standard.

SIJCC is run by parents of players, who contribute many hours. Parent volunteers are vital in the running of the club. Roles include manager, coach, scorer, umpire and committee members.
